Features and Specifications

NON-MAGNETIC: All components of the PicoPump are non-magnetic, allowing it to be used right next to, and even inside the MRI bore.

ACCURACY: Can administer fluid with microliter accuracy.

INFUSION RATES: Can deliver fluid at rates up to 50 uL/sec, with no minimum infusion rate.

COMPACT DESIGN: Saves valuable space with a footprint of 216 mm x 61 mm and a height of 55 mm.

SYRINGE COMPATIBILITY. Accommodates syringes between 0.1 and 3 mL.

REMOTELY OPERATED: Can be seamlessly operated remotely from MacOS / Windows.

ELECTRICAL COMPATIBILITY: Universal power adapter (100 - 240 V, 50-60 Hz).

GRADIENT INTERFERENCE: Less than 1% SNR drop when operating pump inside MRI.

MRI Testing

MRI TESTING. Interference of the PicoPump on MRI imaging was tested on a 7T Bruker Biospec magnet. Tuning and wobbling of the coil was unaffected (image below, left). There was a <1% SNR drop when the syringe pump operated in the bore of the MRI during T1 Flash image acquisition of a phantom (see image) with a 4 channel head coil.

Software Operation

The included software, compatible with Windows and MacOS allow you to easily control the syringe pump from a laptop or computer. You can select the syringe type and set up the infusion rate and volume directly from the software, as well as create custom infusion profiles and view delivery progress in real time.

Infusion Testing

The PicoPump can consistently infuse fluid with high precision (<1 % variation between runs). When testing the pump with a 1 mL syringe, it achieved sub-microliter accuracy for test volumes below 100 uL. The device maintained an average error of 1.4 %, with an absolute mean error of 1.36 uL. (N=20 for each tested volume; experiment based on the gravimetric method with water.)
